Title: FAQ: Can You Copy a Channel's Settings to Another Channel ?
Post by: musicman7722 on April 09, 2013, 01:26:57 PM
Making Copies

Is there a way to copy and past a channel to a new channel?  It was a feature on my Presonus 16.0.2 but I don't see that ability here.

Chris

The only way to copy channel settings is to create your own presets. But you have to do that for eq,gate, comp, and fx making it a real pain.
That's the first thing I asked for on the mackie suggestion page. It would be nice to be able to hit one button to copy all that info.
Oh... and pre/post comp in the monitors would be nice too.  Come on 1.5 hurry!

Yes, just "replace" (store) the channel to a preset (I use the name "Copy") and then recall it.

An "Input Preset" saves all of that in one shot :) .

The ICON, FADER, and MUTE settings are not stored with an INPUT PRESET.

RR. I can not get the icons to restore here. The icon that was already on the channel remains unchanged. It does remember vintage vs modern processor settings though.

Weird - it works fine here. I checked when I posted that and just double-checked. I now have three kickdrum channels x( .

I am working with the iPad offline. No DL in sight. I wonder if the DL needs to be connected for this to work properly??

Update, If I start with a new blank "default" snapshot, I can load, replace and recall input settings complete with icons. The snapshot that will not replace the icons is an existing one from before the update.

Huh. I guess I missed that. That's cool. But it would still be nice to move a channel by dragging to another number. So if one gig the drummer has 7 channels and the next gig he has to give up one for the extra horn, it would be nice to slide that horn channel and move all the other channels down one. Get that?

Yup - I'd not hold my breath though ;) .
