Haven't seen any of that on my DL1608.  Double check you baselines..  also try to reset to factory specs.  If none of that works, maybe two of them died.
Might want to shoot a message over to Mackie if that doesn't work.  (Now that they are answering their e-mails.)

I no longer use a DL1608 so I don't know if the routing screen is availabale for the DL1608 but I imagine it is....

look at the routing screen and make sure that those (non-working) aux send outputs are indeed routed to a physical output.

I haven't used the patch panel, but I didn't think the one for the DL1608 could remove the actual output from a source.  But the easy way to check this would be to apply the patch defaults.  If your Auxes come back, than that was what worked.  Also make sure the auxes aren't being affected by some VCA assignments.

Routing is not availeble for the 1608
Vca are not activated for the aux
I did reset al settings, even tryed copying the settings from 2 to aux3 or 4
The aux 1,2,5 and6 have no problems
Looks like the aux is dead,in mf the aux 3 and 4  show music in the main aux mains

Bummer.  Looks like a hardware problem.

Hello everybody,

It happened to me once about a month ago, one night I lost aux 2 and couldn't make it work that night.
I turned the console on next day and the aux 2 is still lost. Next week I'm trying to figure out what was the problem
and suddenly the sound began to "appear" like a bad tuned radio station until it stayed normal as if nothing had happened.

DL1608 owner since October, 2012
Using Master Fader 3, ipad 2, up to date iOS.

Last night using 3 auxs- Aux1 for 1 foldback speaker, Aux2 for 2 foldbacks (lead singer), Aux3 for 2 foldbacks- all active speakers.
Using an Ipad2 docked, and an iPad Air2 via Apple Airport with a 1608 on MF4
3rd set, decided to record Aux5 into left ch, Aux6 into right channel.
After about 10 min, the lead singer calls me on stage and points out both speakers on Aux2 not working. Looked at Aux2 levels on both iPads- all meters showing output.
Stopped recording, checked 1/4" to xlr connections  going from 1608 to foldbacks and power leads- all looks OK.
Swapped output from Aux2 to Aux4 and volume came back to monitors. had to re-eq the singers levels on Aux4.
Took about 5 minutes before stopped getting dirty looks from singer.
Tried it this morning at home, all seems OK- Aux 2 output working again.
May not be related, but about a month ago when recording, the whole docked iPad2 shut down and re-started in the middle of a set.
Might be time to ditch the Ipad2 and install a Lightning kit, as it has also produced lag on swiping on numerous occasions, worse when recording.
I don't have any other programs running on the Ipad2 when doing a show.
Totally p*%#@&!

From where I stand you're chasing down the wrong source of the problem. It's quite clear that the DL is what is controlling and changing aux's, not the iPad. Other than mute or fader level I know of no other command that the iPad can issue to produce this. Prove me wrong. My vote is for a firmware problem.

Got finaly time to look why my auxes didnt work anymore
All connections where looking good, so i tryed something else
I forced an firmwere update to mf3, and they did work al little bit for like 3 a 4 sec( very bad sound), then they started working normal again, switched over to mf4 and they are still working. Very stange but im happy that i got all auxes working again, tommorrow again testing them if they still work(or keep working)
Hopefully this is not comming back, otherwise its also a bug in mf4 that after time the auxes stop working, luckely i now know what to do ( if this work next time too)

It could also be a failing flash ram in the DL that looses info with time. Reloading it may last a while but it will come back. If your seeing a signal in the aux output meter then it most likely is the output driver a 4580 OP amp. It could also be what you're hooking the aux to and it overloads the driver. Hardware failures do occur.  A note about software bugs of this nature is that they would be consistent and you would see a lot of sharpened pitchforks here.

The meters where ok,just no signal at the aux 3 and 4, the only thing a hook up are my monitors, on aux 1,2,5,6 there where no problems

Ampli how did you determine that there was no signal on aux 3,4 ? I'm assuming faders were up and nothing was muted.

Yes i saw signal on the aux main faders, tryed to switch pre/post fader mute on mute off, and what more i could think off
Even copying from aux 1 what worked the settings to aux 3 what didnt work, still no signal on the jack for the aux, only after forced firmware the aux came back,
Like i said before after the forced firmware, the first 3 ,4 sec the sound was very disturbed and low in volume then sudenly it came full back and everything seems to be oke now, yesterday mix a band and no problems anymore

since you guys are talking about auxes not working, I noticed that it is a "pair" of outputs not working, and WK is probably correct in that it is an OP amp. The OP amp handles two channels of audio, so this would also explain the signal level showing properly but no audio. The displayed levels are not likely getting their signal for meter reading from the output of the OP amp but instead, before the OP amp...  just sayin....

I heard the aux distort and go out... may also be an op amp.... is it worth a repair bill?  All 6 auxes are gone on my board.  I burned them out 2 at a time.
Who has a schematic?

Any idea how it happened? Were you using TRS to XLRM cables or ?

I wonder if its not that Mackie love/hate relationship with 3M cables (the flat grey ribbon cables). There is a bunch going to the analog section. I would check that before applying the soldering iron. If they discontinue the mixer then maybe will see the schematics.  :)

I thought of a simple work around since each person uses an individual monitor of their own vocal exclusively.
Just send the mic through there powered monitor....  however  I  had signal in monitor without the through plugged in and I had signal to board but lost the monitor with the through plugged in.
I wound up using the stereo balance to send a monitor mix to front...it wasn't fun to adjust main volume and have to readjust the balance of the vocals.

On my drive home, I was wondering why the monitors would not all a through and play the signal...could it be the phantom power was engaged?  I use it on the drum overheads and never though to turn it off?
