When I plug a 1/4 cable into ch12-16 I get high frequency noise on the outputs which my band describes as the sound a polar bear would hear on a windy day. The cable does NOT have to be plugged into anything else. I've tried several cables with similar effect. Using XLR on the same channels is clean. Has anyone else experienced this, or know why this is?

Record about 30 sec of the noise and look at the frequency's involved in something like audacity (FFT). You will get a clue as to what is causing it. Most likely acting like an antenna into the channel.
