Title: Random requests to update firmware DL1608
Post by: Fluddman on November 08, 2015, 07:41:41 AM
More than a few times now I have got the 'update firmware' message even though I already have updated to the latest version.

It usually happens after 20 or thirty minutes of use and a couple of times just before the start of a show.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Cheers

I have had this happen a few times but it was quite a long time ago on my DL1608, but I no longer have a 1608,
I now use a 32R and have never had that problem.

Hmmmm

Never had it happen once with the 1608 in the 3 years I've been using it and the firmware is up to date. Hmmm, indeed!  :-\

I had it happen only when a major update has been downloaded to the iPad.
The last minor update a few weeks back never asked for a firmware update on the mixer.

I downloaded the update on both iPads and have connected them each to my mixer with neither one asking for an firmware update.

I also use my iPad on someone else's mixer almost every week and while it will ask me to import the
settings from my iPad, it has yet to ask me for any type of firmware update and I know the owner has not done the latest update.
I just cross my fingers and hope for the best

I would do the firmware update when the mixer asks for it 🔊

Thanks everyone. Glad to hear its no a big problem for anyone else.

When it happens close to the start of a gig i won't take the risk of doing an update but at more convenient times I will let it update but that doesn't stop it from happening again.

Cheers

I guess it would make you a little squirrely when it happens just before a major gig, for sure. it would me!  :)
