Title: Gaffa tape gun, cool
Post by: Kev tyler on November 09, 2014, 09:28:49 AM
http://www.gaffgun.com/

I would have to double my fee if I used that much gaffa tape at a gig.

Clever idea

I've always hated taping.  This is a great idea and looks like a good execution.  I'm putting an order in.

Man, I wish I'd had that ten years ago when I was doing 60 gigs a year and bunches of long cable setups to deal with.  Even at $250 I wouldn't have thought twice.  I don't have the need now though.

I reckon a good diyer could knock something similar up with an existing box sealer product?

Maybe, but experience tells me that it will cost more to Diy.

No it will be fine, you can hold it together with gaffa tape

I went through this building a trailer hitch for one of my motorcycles.  In my case, no one built a trailer hitch for that motorcycle.  It ended up costing me about $160.  About what a manufactured hitch costs for more popular bikes.  (Mine tend to be on the quirky side.)  On the positive note, the hitch worked perfectly.  Outside of acceleration and breaking differences, you don't even notice the trailer, even in the twisties.  Very stable.

I think it's nice adding skills during the diy process, apart from mixers and amps, most of my gear is bespoke, I even built a four box pa plus amp rack to fit inside the boot of my car, that allowed the tonneau to hide it all.

Great for dodgy venues and for  when one is parked outside accommodation with no garage.
