Mackie 820i w/Thunderbolt, High Sierra Question
« on: July 10, 2018, 12:02:09 PM »
Hello,
I'm interested in the 820i. It would be perfect for my laptop setup at home, and they are readily available on Reverb, eBay, etc.
However, before I buy, I want to make sure it will be compatible with my 2015 MacBook Pro which is running High Sierra. Has anyone had any experience using a Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter? And is the latest driver compatible with High Sierra? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

I can't speak to the Mackie compatibility, but the TB to FW adapter with High Sierra works fine with hard drives and my Avid Venue SC48 mixer into ProTools. Mackie's driver support is shit for older products. I would probably steer clear of any of their interface products for that reason.
