Title: Lightning Tray & Dock Kits
Post by: robbocurry on February 05, 2014, 01:48:18 PM
Any of you guys purchased or fitted either of the above kits?
What price are the kits in the US?
I got a quote from the UK supplier and it was (IMHO) a ridiculous £130.80 delivered for part no.2039276!!!

That's $212 by today's exchange rate, that's ridiculous. I thought you got rid of that sheriff from Nottingham a while ago or is he back? :)
Found one in your neck of the woods for 118.80 incl VAT.

Still high for what is $99 here. Might want to check with some US co. to see what it would be to ship to you. I've done business with UK firms before no problem.

Thanks WK,
I was hoping to buy one stateside and ship it here, even with import tax it might be cheaper?
It's quite a disincentive from buying the kit, I may have to settle with my 32pin lightning adapter cable :(

The Sweetwater rep had the misfortune to call me just now so I posed the question to him and here is his answer. Mackie doesn't allow sales to the UK for contract and warranty reasons. ;D
So someone would have to buy it for you here and ship it to you. No warranty of  course other than from the US. Personally I'd go with the cable unless you need the security and that could be handled with a Kensington lock.

I think I'll take your advice and stick with the cable, no security issue, just cosmetic appeal!
Thanks WK  :)
