Just for yucks I ordered up one of these, $8.99 shipped from CA, USA:

I'll let all you all know if it works :).
Note that using other than the stock supply could invalidate your warranty! I want to carry a spare in case the original goes teats up at a gig but am too cheap to buy one from Mackie ($50+ ?).

BTW, did that current measurement include the iPad charging? That 3A supply I just ordered is cutting it a bit close if there's another half amp draw for charging :o.
Are they still in a rowboat from China or haven't you tried it out?
You should be fine with 3A. I'm looking at 3A max with the router for a possible batteries only app (less speakers).

Just haven't tried it yet but have been carrying it as a spare. I'll try it tomorrow I think.
Well, it works (as expected) and doesn't get hot and smell or anything after a few hour's use. I need to run the iPad down a bit to see what happens when charging the iPad. I'm not particularly motivated to do any noise tests - I'll use it at my next gig and have a listen but I don't have any problem with the stock supply anyways. I bought this solely to have a spare in case the stock one dies at a gig.

I did a gig Saturday night entirely on this 3 amp supply - worked great :) ! I ran it several days at home first without any glitches.

Fyi, Mouser carries a lot of switching power supplies, while not as cheap and I have not purchased one yet here is a 5amp power supply I found that appears to possibly fit the bill: http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/373/MENB1060_DS-20050.pdf

We have a winner. I bought the MENB1060A1203F01 at Allied for $35. Make sure you get the 12V one. IEC power cable. Big fat rf bead. Fits the Mackie power jack. No pin 1 problem, no data noise hash on the output, no position sensitive hum. None of the problem symptoms at all. No extra ground wire needed from the Mackie. Just works.

Good one. Hopefully I can get one in Australia.
Cheers
