After a recent exchange in "feedback caused by compressors" and others, let me suggest a new category for this forum. Instead of bantering about egos and opinions bordering on fist fights, how about starting a suggested techniques (commonly used techniques and settings from individuals and the reasons for them) mainly but certainly not unique to the DL series of mixers? There is a wealth of talent and knowledge here that needs to be disseminated to the newbies as well as the pro's. Lets categorize the help into venue categories. There are significant differences in usage of the DL based on it's use. For instance what may be true in a 1000+ open air venue certainly has limitations when your in a less than 100 crowd club scene. All could be addressed in a reasonable category breakdown ( size and acoustics environment). I know I'm suggesting that we cut down on the bad news and increase the good news coverage (hasn't worked on TV) but maybe it will set this forum apart from the rest. Opinions?

I like the idea. All constructive here, eh?

Nobody's stopping anyone from posting - have at it :) .

I guess you didn't pick up on the title it says CATEGORY not topic. That means admin privileges to set up! The very next thing is to argue over subcategories. Then we can post.
-
On second thought let just have a category. Just need a good title to convey the subject matter.
-
How about naming it DL How To ?
-
Yous guys can just post new topics. I'll either make them FAQ's, leave them alone, or move them to a new category or subcategory as the mood strikes me  .

Yah you've already demonstrated your "mood strikes you" in the past. The FAQ of your hijacked topic "Alternate power supply" at 93 views rates FAQ but the source "Pin one problems" with 1370 views doesn't? I'll think to pass on that. Smells a lot like NIH (not invented here) and I'm in charge problem.

Don't knock it, without RR we wouldn't have a forum at all ::)
-
Please note that all those preceded the 2x4. For starting the forum we are all (including me) grateful but one person a forum doesn't make.
-
Agreed but RR doesn't deserve brickbats, we should be nice :)

RR, I might not have the "world of sound reinforcement" completely figured out, even after 30years, but I've gained a lot from this forum.
You put in the effort and had the foresight and skill to make it happen - so a big "thank you" from me!
