Title: MIDI pedal control
Post by: RoadRanger on May 16, 2016, 10:35:27 PM
I'd like to at least be able to toggle the four mute groups from a pedal - anybody done that yet? One mute group could be the vocal reverb/FX, maybe another for the acoustic guitar, maybe a third for emergency all-mute, etc?

I do have a $3.25 Arduino board that I could build a pedal around for myself. Dunno if I'd want to make them for others - it would probably be $100 to be worth my while :( .

I also have an old Behringer BCN44 controller I could put on a mic stand or on top of my amp?

Might start with a cheap one button version - that would let us mute one mute group for just the vocal FX. I suspect that's all most would need? Maybe could do that for $75 shipped? The Arduino nano board is small enough to go in a mini pedal :) .

So, what would you want to use a small MIDI pedal for?

Looks like X-Air only supports mute groups on the PC or Mac platform.  Definitely not the iPad/iPhone.  RR, how about the Android version?  Haven't tested the Android version of X-Air yet. Only on my Samsung phone, but too small.

Just run the Android version on your laptop. There are emulators available for Android. Run both apps side by side.

I use VMWare Workstation.  So I can run a Mac OS, Linux or just about anything
