« Last post by Sloman on May 11, 2023, 03:45:21 PM »
Hi hope alls well,

I’m using DL1608 with master fader 5.2

AirPort Extreme router

With iPad 6 in mixer and iPad 5 wireless , all works well, connects well never had it drop out ..

I’ve just bought an iPad Pro 3rd generation 12.9 running 16.4.1 osx

All settings on all iPads are the same , Airport utility set up on all  and all set up on iPad Pro but can not connect wirelessly

Current device iPad Pro just says Disconnected in red

Detected mixers says it’s there but no matter how I try, IE re booting everything etc etc it won’t connect ..

Any advise would be much appreciated . I moved to a pro iPad as the screen size more suitable to my ageing eyes ..

Thanks all

Mackie has released MF 5.2.1 for iOS devices dealing with iOS 16 issues and for Android tablets and phones dealing with Android 13.  People are reporting that it works well.  Get it at the app store for your device.  (Now I can upgrade to Android 13.)

I'm running an iPad Pro on iPadOS 16.x with no issues whatsoever.  Hope this helps.

Don't know a way to permanently disable it, but phantom power isn't easy to ACCIDENTALLY turn on.  And in the input trim panel, you can see the status of ALL input channels phantom power immediately IN RED if on and White if OFF.  The mixer defaults to staying is the last mode after shut down.  So unless you have shows saved with phantom power on, you aren't likely to be turning it on without a reason to.  (And it's not global on this mixer.  You have to turn it on by the channel.)

I've got a large keyboard set up in my studio and want to use the Mackie DL32R as the main mixer as I don't do much live PA stuff anymore. Right now I'm going through 3x Behringer 8 channel DI's but they suck. I'm thinking about making TS to XLR and going straight in but I'm concerned about phantom power. It is too easy to turn on from Master Fader. Making 24 Cap protected TS to XLRs is a pain. Anybody know of a way to globally turn off phantom power? The other option was to open it up and physically disable phantom on channels 1-24 (25-32 can stay as I can use the 1/4" TRS). Anybody open their DL32R? Does it look do able? Thoughts?

Unfortunately I can’t directly answer your question. However in the mean time, I would strongly suggest downloading the Mixing Station app (available for most operation systems). I have a feeling that Mackie may stop supporting MF fairly soon and the MS app will at least extend the life of your consoles for a few more iOS updates. You’ll be stuck with using the very last firmware  version of MasterFader but at least Mixing Station seems to be well supported and also controls several different consoles as well. .  FWIW.
