Mackie 1202 VLZ-PRO - Clean/Lube Trim Pot

(1/2) > >>

Adam79:
The trim pots on my Mackie are filthy and desperately need a cleaning/lube. I opened up the back panel, but there's a second PCB Board blocking all the pots I need to clean. It's not too obvious on how to remove this second board. Can someone please help me out? Thanks.

In my experience, cleaning the pots will be a short term fix at best. If you're going to go through the trouble of taking the mixer apart to clean the pots, you may as well replace them. There are only 4 on that board, so it won't take much time or expense. As for the take apart goes, I haven't disassembled that model before so I can't be of much help. You might try contacting Mackie/Loud support and see if they can send you a PDF of the service guide.

What type of pots are used for the trim?

Don't know. But Loud parts can tell you and sell them to you. They're probably a few $ each.

So I should call Loud, not Mackie? It's weird that they have no email address posted on their site.
