Back to NAMM with all that deafening silence NO one has taken advantage of a great advertising opportunity. Then again who said marketing types were smart.  :)
18 days left for this opportunity!

NAMM is when manufacturers announce their new products.
Announcing anything before NAMM eliminates the need for the NAMM winter show.
The manufacturers want as many industry leaders and buyers to see their new products for the new year which is why the winter NAMM show has been so succesful.

You're a little confused and apparently have little prior knowledge of the show. The reason for the show is not to announce but to actually show their wares and make contact with their buyers. Pre-announcements will give more people incentive to attend on products of interest to them. There are also many more reasons to go there which have nothing to do with announcements. Attendance is the number one reason for the organizers who would love to see it above 100,000. Yes some manufacturers will use it as a platform for product introduction. Registration will close on the 7th.

I've never been to NAMM.  Where and when?

Running fine on my iPad 2. As someone else mentioned, boot time is a little longer but sync time seems snappier. It's problem free on my iPhone 6 as well.

Well here is the Mackie ProDX series of mixers.  http://mackie.com/products/prodx-series
What a disappointment and pricing not really competitive. Seems like they gave up on competing with the mainstream small format mixers or is this just to cover the bottom end?

They actually look perfect for singer/songwriters or duos to mix from the stage, or for a sub-mix/monitor setup for a keyboardist. Street pricing is $200 or $400, it seems, for the ProDX4 and ProDX8 respectively, which isn't too terrible.

The more interesting thing to me is that the app is available for Android.... Hmmm....

Could they be the new digtal Blue Tooth wireless versions of the analog VLZ4 Series mixers, maybe?  :)

I think that Mackie is focusing on the novice musicians for their digital line. Keep it simple seems to be their niche market. The Bluetooth isn't worth much , it's a class III device with no real range at 30 ft (10 meters). Once they publish the manual we'll see the real capabilities. A new preamp modeled after the X32 Midas is advertised as Wide-Z(TM). Has anyone heard it?

Unless I’ve missed the boat (it's already sailed in my case!) on NAMM releases, in particular Mackie. It doesn’t appear that there was a re-imagined DL1608 to come out of there and hit the retail market. All except for the PRO DX Series.

I won’t go into details since this was already discussed under my “Sign of things to come” post already.  ;)

Maybe Mackie is keeping it as a surprise for when we least expect it?  :-X

Maybe Music Messe or next years NAMM, maybe never. What was also quite mysterious was Music Group's very low key presence. No Synth no new mixers etc. Is Uli following Greg Mackie's mistakes?
