Beno,

Did you test this with iPad Air or just iPad Pro?

Thanks

FYI. We have tested this and it does work with Master Fader and a DL mixer. The only caveat is that you still need to use a router or switch in between. It looks like the iPad needs something to give it an IP address.
Support is writing up a document describing all the details.
Thanks for the info Beno. Just a few questions. Why would it not work with static IP addresses. How about testing the iPad 2 and 3. If it all works why not put it in the manual?
The procedure for static is as follows :
Tap on the IP Address field and enter the static IP address that you want to use on your iPhone/iPad. Tap on the Router field and enter the routers IP address. Tap on Subnet Mask and enter your information (usually 255.255.255.0). Tap on the Wi-Fi networks button in the upper left corner of the screen to save settings. It may also be automatically saved. If you need a DNS address use your networks or 8.8.8.8 (Googles). Since the DL won't function without a WiFi router anyways it should not be a problem. Beno can you post the link to the doc when available?

Actually we hadn't explored the static IP on the iPad with the direct connect. We'll look into it and definitely test with all iPad's and include the supported devices in our report.

Hi Beno,

Though I have had surprisingly few connection issues, the option of a hard-wired connection is a real confidence builder!

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Did you try giving the iPad a static IP? I know you can when wireless (I have no DHCP server in my normal setup) but dunno if you can with a wired adapter?

EDIT> Oops, must have missed that there was another page of replies.

OK. Ordered the Lightning to USB3 camera adapter and it came in today. Plugged it up to my usb to Ethernet dongle and it worked flawlessly on Air 2 and 1st gen mini. Hard wired to extra Ethernet port in router. When plug into iPad the wifi icon in top left corner disappears. Loaded MF and controlled dl32R via wired connection.  One note, must plug lightning charger into the camera adapter to supply sufficient power for Ethernet dongle.  Going to work on routerless direct connect next.

Well, just plugged ethernet directly into dl32R from camera adapter, then opened MF and presto, there was my dl32R. When I pressed button choosing my dl32R, it synchronized and I was up and mixing via direct wired connection.  I had powered off my dl32R router just to make doubly sure that I was not on wifi.  Funny thing is that when wired direct, I am also getting wifi from my household router.  So I am posting this via wifi and can toggle over to MF and it synchronizes with my dl32R via hard wire. Nice.

Excellent work by all involved to provide a connectivity option for the DL line  :)

Does this work with the DL1608? Or just the DL32R?

Cheers!

BenO this only requires a simple yes or no or haven't you tested it yet?

Dongles, adapters, camera plugs......not going that route.
Not in that big of a rush.  When the DL32 has a plug on the front that is marked
iPad USB input,  I'll plunk my money down. Until then I'm not playing
with a series of adapters.
