Using DL32r via dante as a stagebox for different mixer
« on: May 09, 2016, 02:09:41 PM »
Hi!

My band is using dl32r successfully as a monitor mixer. BUT, we're using analog splitter before Mackie, so one side is going to DL32r, second directly to FOH mixer.
I'm total noob when it comes to dante stuff - is it possible to use DL32r as a stagebox for separate FOH mixer (for example Yamaha QL1)? Will Mackie maintain it's monitoring and usb hdd recording capabilities?

Thanks in advance!
Mateusz

Here's a great video from Mackie on that subject, at about 4 minutes in.

In that example, they are showing a Yamaha CL5 which is basically the same as a QL1.

My justification for buying the DL32R is to use it as a stage box with my X32.  The 32 input Behringer stage box costs about what a DL32R costs.
But after using the DL32R, I might sell the X32.

Hi Mateusz,

How many channels do you need for the House mix, how many for the monitor mixes?

Do you need physical faders at FOH, or would an Ipad suffice?

Thanks and good health,  Weogo
