DL32R Hard Drive Scanning
« on: June 17, 2016, 10:01:52 PM »
Just unpacked this unit, formatted as fat32 on my PC and recorded some tracks. Viewed them on my PC and copied and saved them on the PC leaving the files in tact on the HD. Now when I reconnected the drive it has been scanning for 24 hours and still going. It started as soon as I plugged it in. What is up with that? Can it be stopped? Should I use the Master Fader 4 App to format? It is a 380GB Toshiba drive. I have a show tomorrow and hate to stop it in midstream. I have another drive but afraid it might do the same thing since it is a twin.

The hard drive should always be formatted by the DL32R, not your PC.

Yup that's just an indication that Mackie doesn't quite have it down. Fat32 been around too long and is currently being used as a interchange file system among disparate computer systems. So when that fails you guest it  :(. Just another Mackie bug.
When in doubt KISS
