Failed output?
« on: September 19, 2016, 09:15:27 PM »
Output 14 started distorting. Lost all lows. Moved cable to output 12 and re-patched. Sounds ok now.
Next show same thing. Sounded ok to start then distortion set in after about 30 mins.

Any ideas?

What the heck is going on with the DL32, inputs failing, outputs going bad.
You're scaring me away from pulling the trigger and going from the 1608 to the 32.

I haven't had any inputs or outputs go bad. But I wonder if a cable came loose inside. You might try opening it up and making sure the ribbon cables are properly seated.

Hi WN-ROC,

I have close to a hundred gigs on my DL32R and all inputs and outputs are working.

Have you carefully checked all your output cabling?

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

It's always been output 14 but different cables every time. Definitely internal. I'm tempted to open it up but it is still under warranty. I have a backup but still hate to send the DL out for repair and be without it.
Sounds like it's not a common problem. Guess I'll do a little more snooping.

Is there a Mackie authorized repair shop in your area ?
Possibly they could do a quick check or expedite the repair so your not without the item.
Even if they need a part, possibly they can order it and call you when it comes in so your not without the DL while they wait
for a part to come from Washington or overseas.

I would not open it myself in fear of voiding the warranty, plus I'm not as savvy as others here on the inner workings of these magic boxes.

Had this on my 1608, the fix for me was going back to mf classic and then back to mf4.5, or u can try to force a firmware update
