« on: September 21, 2016, 02:20:16 AM »
Hi Folks,

Anybody gone to IOS 10 yet?  Any issues in general?
How is it working with MasterFader 4.5?

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

After updates, I had an issue a week ago with the MF app freezing ten minutes before a show.  Closing it and opening it again, powering down the iPad--nothing restored control.  Luckily I had a spare iPad with me, and the show ran fine from it.  I ended up deleting the MF app and downloading it again on the problematic iPad.  It appeared to be working normally the next night, but half an hour before showtime, both iPads froze at the same time.  This time, however, closing the apps and opening them again got them working right away.  Both times, they froze when I went to double-check monitor settings.  I contacted support and their only suggestion was to force a new firmware update on the mixer.  I've done that but haven't run a full show since then, which I'll do tonight.  Hopefully things will go smoothly.  Both iPads used are new iPad Pros, we use AirPort Extreme, and all the updates were current.

The issue some folks are seeing with lag is on the first generation "retina" iPads. Mine are non-retina so don't need the huge horsepower those displays need.

Intersting...  I just snagged the lightning upgrade adaptor, tray and a used ipad air 2 64 gig to dock. Fogured to use my iapd 4 as the remote...  Maybe I'be be better off using the ipad 2 I dock now as the remote...

Hi Folks,

I'm now using IOS10 on an Iphone 5, 5SE, Ipad-3, Ipad Air, Ipad Air-2 and all are functioning fine, though as usual, the Ipad-3 lags a bit.

4Mal, my understanding is the Ipad-4 is faster than the Ipad-2;
please confirm which works faster for you.
Seems like there aren't that many folks using Ipad-4.

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Using MF 3.x. the 4 is noticably faster than the 2.  The 2 will exhibit momentary freezing that the 4 never does.  I'll test with the 4.5 version asap.

Hi WK,

Thanks for the clarification!
And here I just thought they were slow in rolling 10 out for the Ipad-3.

To clarify, I'm running the most current IOS systems available on all my Ipads.

Yesterday I had a big outdoor speaking event, complete with a choir and band, in downtown Asheville.
Was concerned about WiFi and other RF in town, ran a 100' Cat5e cable out to FOH just in case, but wireless was solid.

Good health,  Weogo
