Master Fader 4.5.2 Released!
« on: November 11, 2016, 05:04:19 AM »
Wow...  monthly updates!

I have not put the update on either of my systems as I have a busy weekend and don't want to risk having issues, but will apply it next week.

It appears from the changelog that most of the changes are geared towards the dc16.

Could someone post the change log?

My iPad won't let me cut and paste from the app store description.

Thanks!

• Improved DC16 connection reliability
• Improved DC16 screen color uses and made them more accurately match Master Fader

• Improved DC16 wired iPad connection reliability
• Fixed an issue where DC16 could crash while adjusting per channel encoders
• Fixed various formatting and refresh issues with DC16 screens
• Fixed various issues with DC16 meters briefly flashing
• Fixed various issues with DC16 encoder response for stepped parameters
• Fixed various issues with Follow Mode where DC16 or Master Fader were not following to the correct view
• Fixed various issues and improved accuracy of DC16 About view
• Fixed an issue where loading channel images could cause DC16 and Master Fader to disconnect
• Fixed an issue where DC16 show display and controls could stop functioning
• Fixed an issue where DC16 right main matrix source would flash when mute group 2 is enabled
• Fixed an issue where DC16 Reverb and Delay Masters were not showing custom names
• Fixed an issue where DC16 was not switching properly between iPad and Analog inputs
• Fixed an issue where DC16 couldn't change options for the Vintage EQ HPF, Mid Freq and Mid Q
• Fixed an issue where DC16 would get in an unknown state after pressing the MUTE and VIEW control buttons at the same time
• Fixed an issue where DC16 briefly displays old channel image when loading new image
• Fixed various issues with assigning VCAs and Subgroups when on the DC16 Masters Bank
• Various other fixes and enhancements to DC16 and Master Fader

Master Fader version 4.5 added support for Mackie DC16 Control Surface including a new Controllers setup panel and Follow modes. It also adds the following great new features for all DL1608, DL806 and DL32R users:
• All-new, great-sounding reverbs with advanced controls
• Spectrograph underlay option for RTA
• View RTA from any input channel
• All-new factory presets for all processors simplifies setup

Yawn !! Still no details on the bug fixes. Time to loose the DL32 and AXIS from MF for Dl1608 and DL806.

The change log details what the bug fixes were.  This time they didn't give the base DL models much love, but it's an update. Those who own the DC16 will be very happy.
In fact, it addressed an issue which was keeping a friend from using their new DC16 at shows. (something about a display glitch)  So they were just using the DL32R directly, but as of this past weekend, all went well I heard.

To me, that sounds like progress.  Maybe not progress for ME, but it affects our whole ecosystem.   Kinda like this election.  Maybe I didn't get my way, this time, but I see hope =)

Yawn again !! this is what you call detailed bug fixes descriptions?
"• Improved formatting of Master Fader
Spectrum Analyzer on iPad mini."
The rest is once again DC16 (Axis System) related issues.

Who needs a detail?   It shows the summary.   We're not their devs, or even beta testers.   The changelog is simply to show areas that were addressed.

The majority of people here don't want to see "Fixed issue where grow and glow would temporarily lose sync, changed #gngroutine lines 3571-3578, corrected race condition". They just want to see that it has been addressed.

If you want details, why not ask to become part of the beta team?

I don't know about you but "Master Fader 4.5.2 Includes Numerous Bug Fixes" doesn't cut it for me. I don't care how they fix it just what they fixed and if workarounds are no longer necessary. If there is another change log I'm not aware of it. Just the Apple one and Mackie's manual updates. Better yet what bugs are not fixed.

So other than the one I pointed out previously (an improvement, not a bug)  all other fixes are for the DC16. So much for DL806 and DL1608 support and bug fixes.  >:(  What not enough time or interest to deal with aged products or are we back in the denial stage of "we can't reproduce them"?

"• Various other fixes and enhancements to DC16 and Master Fader"

"That's not vague at all..."

Really?

Really?

I guess we should look at it as -  they will fix the big money makers first to justify their job, and the rest will trickle down to us dl32r and 1608 owners.

Right now, I'm thrilled because the few actual bugs I have encountered have been fixed as of the last couple releases.

"Various other bug fixes" may we'll have addressed other people's bugs. Try it and see if your problems are resolved, and if not, let em know they still exist.

Good luck....
