DL32R time stamps on USB media
« on: April 21, 2017, 04:36:29 PM »
I keep forgetting to ask this question...   Excuse me if it has been asked and answered already.

The time stamps on my recordings don't jive with the actual time they were recorded.

Is there some place the DL32R / MF let's you verify the time and date and I've just not seen it?

The iPads are correct... The router could be wrong if it is pulled from there, but other than that, no clue.

Thought I would give some specifics to my time stamp difference...

I just recorded a few seconds of audio....    Named the file "test 12_57" because it was 12:57pm Eastern when I started the recording on 4/21/2017

The folder is dated 2/9/2017 11:43 AM, as is the .wav file in it.

So we are not talking about a few seconds or minutes off =)

Time Machine!!

So the trick is to figure out what happens between February of 2017 and April 2017 (now) and then boot up the Mackie, go back to february and invest heavily in the stock market before major spikes.
Then I can just pay someone to edit the time stamps on my recordings with the proceeds!

Brilliant! =P

Am I the only one with the time/date off on their DL32R's recordings? Can someone else please confirm?

I'd love 30 minutes off! Heh.  Okay, so at least I am not alone.   Now, how to fix it.......   I wonder if it need an internet connection or a time server to get the current time at boot up or something

To fix my date and time, I tried the following....

Assumed that the DL32R needed to find a time server at bootup....  So connected my airport to the internet before I started the DL32R up - nope, no go.
Reloaded offline shows - no go.

Forced the DL32R to reload the firmware... and reload my shows....  No Joy

Still thinks it is February 14th today.....   blah!

It's stuck on Valentines Day! Any significance? Sorry, just noted the date. I do hope it's not a serious issue for you. You would think that it would be able to put the correct date and time stamp on the files though.

I just made a 32 channel recording for about 15 seconds with the connected USB drive and then connected the drive to my Mac Poro desktop computer and looked at the time on the file and it was approximately one hour and 51 minutes late.

I got official word from Mackie today....   The machine is not adjustable for time.   So, whatever it is - it is.....   It's set at the factory.  However, they didn't rule out some way to adjust it in the future (I'm going to assume it is just not a huge priority).

I agree, I suppose the only way for the files to have accurate time stamps is from a connected iPad but even then,
if that iPad is not normally connected to an internet connection for time then all hope is gone  :)

The time is going to be off regardless of being connected to an iPad, or even a computer, unfortunately.

So, I have hard drives with the date offset by two months and no way to easily remedy that.
It makes it very difficult to search for a band's show by date and time....

Hi there. I registered to ask if a solution or workaround had been found for this?

Our DL32R's date has always been a couple of years slow for recording timestamps, but it has changed to now be 100 years in the future. So, something has changed it.

Does anyone have any thoughts?
