Master fader 3 or 4 on Ipad2
« on: September 17, 2017, 03:33:50 PM »
Anyone using the latest Master Fader app on an Ipad2. I have two of them I use with my DL1608 but with older versions of MF. Want the RTA feature. Any thoughts? I only use those iPads for Master fader these days. Can an Ipad2 function well with the newer iOS?

AFAIK the only issue you will have is performance. I have a iPad 3 retina dspl. and it's probably slower than the iPad 2. iOS will be 9.3.5 and MF can be 4.61. Try one of the iPads and see how you like it.

I have it on a docked iPad 2. I use a new iPad (gen 7) to mix. If I didn't have the new iPad, I would call it almost unusable. The lag is terrible, and some text windows don't display properly while naming channels.

I noticed a big slow down on my iPad 2 when I upgraded the ios to allow me to load MF4 and the X32 app. Before upgrading, my iPad 2 ran like new with no lag at all using MF 2.x.

The new $330 iPads are really nice, and mine runs super slick. I'm planning on getting another soon. I also want to upgrade to a Lighting tray but I cannot confirm whether Mackie has one that will fit the new iPad.

Thanx. That's what I thought and exactly the feedback I was looking for.

I keep an air 2 docked and wander with an iPad 2. I get by fine.  I have another air 2 that is my email/browsing machine me it is noticibly smoother.  Still, the gen 2 machine gets by...
