Mackies Next Innovation?
« on: August 06, 2018, 09:47:17 PM »
Most would agree that the advent of the digital mixer reduced a significant amount of gear in the signal path. Made mixing a lot more convenient but why stop there? The next obvious area to combine with digital would certainly be the power section of the audio system. A real no brain er since the likes of PPM and others already exist in the analog world. Don't even reach for the unreachable  :) Mackie Reach or Freeplay (to few inputs and constrains on speaker/control placement). Why is the "Reach" no longer included on their main website? I believe that the next step would be to add the power section to the mixer. Call it the DLPM series. Go even one step further and make it battery powered as an option. Then for the future add wireless mic receivers to deal with the input. That's once the FCC gets it's act together about frequency allocation for audio. What would you like to see next?
Cheers

For me the next step would be make it modular, (units of 4 channels) so that u can mix different units to created ure personal prefference of channel , like 4 inputs, 4 outputs, 4 effects, why not 4 wireless receivers (for mics/ instruments),  4wireless transmitters (for ie or monitors).
Controlled bij mf app, 32 or 48 channels
If 1 unit fail swap it out and check later
