Wave Agent can not read file
« on: September 10, 2018, 08:43:33 AM »
I've used wave agent for splitting my recording for a while now without any problems. This weekend it was saying that it could not separate as unable to read the file! It'll still pay them and show them separately. It was not just my latest recordings but all. Any thoughts or help appreciated.

I am certainly no computer expert,
but is it possible that a recent operating system "up" date could have broken Wave Agent?

It's a window's PC - so it's always updating! Perfectly possible but if so then others may be experiencing the same.

Got a response from Sound Devices - effectively turn it off and turn it on again!

Never thought of that myself ;-)

If Wave Agent is still misbehaving, you could take a look at an alternative: http://cacophony.aspinock.com/index.php?topic=1344.0

Just a simple tool I knocked together as a front-end for SOX to automate some of the tedious splitting processes. It also allows you to pre-define splitting setups (mix of mono and stereo channels).

Give it a try...

Cheers,

Torsten

It's still not working as it used to so I'm going to give http://cacophony.aspinock.com/index.php?topic=1344.0 as go.
