iPad right main volume twice as loud as left
« on: October 27, 2016, 01:23:55 AM »
In playing around with my two iPads I noticed that the Right main volume is twice as loud as left on both iPads when docked and playing music. When I check the iPad channel both levels are about the same but the main right volume read out is much higher as well as the speaker output. None of the other channels cause the main to be out of balance. I checked the L R balance control and it’s dead center.

Any suggestions

Did you check the trims for the iPad channel?

On the iPad channel click on the trim button (top of fader), when that opens up you will notice there are
left/right buttons. Click each one and adjust the trim  slider below until the level is balanced.

Thanks, that did the trick.

Can you explain what the difference is between the trim and the main slider? From what I understand the trim is not the same as the gain where you are setting the input level to prevent clipping.

I think I found the answer to my trim question.
Thanks

I joined this forum because I have the same issue.

I just discovered if I unlink the iPad, left & right are set the same, both channels register the same output level and by magic, the master shows equal output on each channel.  Link them together again and the left channel returns to about half volume.  As far as I can tell it's just the display not the actual output.
