MF 5.1.1 Released
« on: June 10, 2020, 08:34:56 PM »
What?!   Master Fader 5.1.1 has been released!

https://mackie.com/sites/default/files/Master%20Fader%20V5_1_1%20Release%20Notes.pdf

UPDATE:
I installed it on two iPads and iPhone, updated mixer firmware and tested it out.

Documented crash I reported is fixed.

Sliders seem much smoother and no more jumpiness.

Linked channel issue is fixed.

Nice!

Hrmmmm I may be dreaming, but I was sure that originally, MF 5.1 was able to be downloaded to my Pixel 4 XL and see the mixer.

It downloads fine from the Google Play store, and it runs, but it doesn't show the DL32R online.

Again, it's been since March since I played with it - I may be confused!

This is good news.  I honestly worried that Mackie had stopped all software development for these products.  I’m very glad I’m wrong.  But I don’t have any Android devices and it was working fine for my DL16S, iPads and Windows Laptop.  Thanks MACKIE!!!!

I have to try it on the Fire HD 8, 8th gen and see if it works on it.    The earlier version did.   But I wiped the device and now I will have to load the google play store back on it. =)

The laundry list is pretty long. We'll see if it's reliable enough for a 4-6 hr. gig. Looks like recording on the DL1608 is still NG.

I just did a test to make sure the recording is working on my DL32R... whew, it is.
That's one of the things I love about my setup - it generally works perfectly for recording every show and rehearsal.

Well it has lasted 7-1/2 hrs. without a disconnect with a Android Lenovo A2 and a W10 Dell XPS. Lets hope it will last the night. About the recording on a DL1608 the only issue would be the random disconnect without any indication. The other issue Mackie listed was a joke "• Undocking during playback pauses playback[DL806 / DL1608]." duh  bet it also stops if you shut off the power.   ::)  "• The playback channel count is unobtainable[DL806 / DL1608]".??? Haven't had much time to test any of this. Time to get this listed on Reverb while it still has some value. Just add an iPad to the mix to cover more bases. Let you know how it fares in the morning. The display scaling hasn't changed 13 channels + LR on a 27" 4K unit, sad. :(

Well with three control surfaces running now at 16-1/2 hrs. (8 hrs. for the iPad) all is well. The router a Asus rt88 /ax unit and the PC are running /ax 5 GHz and the Android is on 2.4 GHz /b/g/n and the iPad 5 GHz /ac. Not sure what's behind this yet, could be the /ax or maybe MF 5.1.1.  :)

On my 24” touch screen monitor, I’m able to see 16 channels and L/R.  Don’t know about your problem with that monitor.  What type and model is it and what are you driving it with?

It's a LG and resolution is set correct. The simple answer is that no other app is having problems with scaling other than MF. If I change scaling only the window size changes including the content within the window. The graphics card is a NVIDIA GT730. I'll check for any driver updates anyway.
The Android displays 10.5 + LR and the iPad (2019) is at a whopping 8 + LR. I can't find any scaling choices in MF. Am I missing something? Behringer gives me scaling choices as does Soundcraft via the browser.

After 30 hrs. and no disconnects on my main net (Internet connection and lots of traffic) its time to go to the intranet (no Internet connection and only mixer and control surface traffic) on the AX35 (AX40) router. If I get no disconnects after a reasonable time then I can conclude that /ax provided the disconnect solution. Time will tell.  :)
One change for the W10 Netgear AX35 test is run from my Surface 7 also /ax , couldn't tie up my main system for the duration.  :)
13 hrs. and counting, so far so good.

took the plunge today since most my shows are cancelled anyway and
uploaded. 5.1.1 on both the 16 and 32.  Only to find that 2 of my ipods don’t support
this version since it requires ios 11 to run and older ipods only run up to IOS 9.somethiing.
The air2 is fine .  I was able to swap with my wife for her newer ipad since she doesn’t
use it anyway.   Next dilemma of the day,  is my 1608 is a 30 pin and guess what Mackie
discontinued?    Yep, the service kit to change the 30 pin to lightning plug. I can use the
dongle but I hate that look and don’t want the ipad sitting loose.  After searching the web
I found the kit (thank you Full Compass) and it shows in stock at only double the original
price !!!   Ordered it and hope it’s really in stock.

I still have to keep MF 4 on my pads since there are shows I do that I log into the house
Mackie board which I’m sure they will never update

Now..I have to learn the new V5.1.1
Been 3 months since I  ran the program or even turned on the board. This virus stuff really
has been a royal pain

Your never to old to learn something stupid

You will like the changes with MF 5.1.1. (Obviously you hadn’t upgraded to MF 5.1 as that also won’t run on iOS 9.x.   Biggest thing is much better effects.  It’s all good stuff.
