DL16S power inlet
« on: April 01, 2022, 05:43:53 PM »
Hi Folks,

My DL16S wouldn't power up today.
No power through IEC inlet/switch/EMI filter.
I hot-wired the power supply and the mixer works.
The IEC inlet/switch/filter is sealed and I would likely damage it taking it apart.
The part is a Taiwan-made Yunpen YR06A3.
I've left a message with Mackie support.

My question, has anybody else had this module die?

Access was pretty easy  -  end bumpers off, a few screws on each end and the ones on the bottom.

I've done a few gigs with the DL32R in the past couple years, but
it's been more than a year since I turned on the DL16S.

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

I’m pretty sure there is a fuse built into the IEC receptacle. We’re you able to find that and test it.

Hi,

Good suggestion, but the DL16S has a different IEC inlet, with no fuse.
It is a combo  IEC inlet, switch, and EMI filter.
there's no access to the inards from the front, back, top/bottom or sides.

You can order a replacement from digikey. Probably your best option.

Look like a 3 amp part. This one might work and they have 40 in stock. Not cheap.

Hi Art,

The Corcom C-series is close, but shorter in height.
The Yunpen unit in the mixer is rated at 6A.

Mackie sent me to a third-part repair service that will only sell the part after
I ship the mixer to them and pay a bench service fee.

On another forum a poster found the part at German distributor Conrad:
 https://www.conrad.ch/de/p/yunpen-yr06a3-entstoerfilter-mit-schalter-mit-kaltgeraetebuchse-250-v-ac-6-a-0-7-mh-l-x-b-x-h-41-1-x-31-6-x-56-mm-1-st-1326741.html?utm_source=tradedoubler-de&utm_medium=affiliation&utm_campaign=general&utm_content=deeplink_cpo
He is going to get a couple for me.
Apparently the part is being discontinued, so if anybody wants a spare...

Another option I found is this:
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/schaffner-emc-inc./FN285-2-06/1997121?utm_adgroup=General&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Smart%20Shopping_Product_Zombie%20SKUs&utm_term=&utm_content=General&utm_id=bi_cmp-408786779_adg-1295224999087968_ad-80951627048660_pla-4584551177443323_dev-c_ext-_prd-1997121&msclkid=df71c88155a81e077d4daac8f36c31da
It's too big, but would fit an enlarged hole.  It adds a fuse.

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Hi Folks,

For anybody curious, I found a youtube about replacing this part:
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-0mD8n5RZs
He also has one about adding a fan to the DL16S.
Cooler electronics last longer.  Am thinking I'm going to do this.
