DL32R alternatives
« on: November 27, 2022, 07:57:49 AM »
I can see many rack mixers out there but only the Mackie records multitrack to USB drive without need of a Computer...

If DL32R is dead.... what are the alternatives for multitrack without a computer?

With the DL32R a bit of extra post-processing is required to be able to use the files.
When recording, there is no indication that anything is being recorded on the drive, no monitoring is possible.
With the MultiTrack DAW app on a phone, 32 tracks can be recorded, and monitored.
A spare, old phone is a pretty compact recording device.

I still like and regularly use the DL32R, and for smaller events the DL16S.
For several events I work, the DL32S would be a good option.

Here's a thread with some good options noted:
