Does not look like it is expandable input wise. :-[  Wonder if the the Aux's are pre dynamics? They totally blew the new Soundcraft Expression in this regard. What the hell are they thinking. More than likely these consoles will be used to mix monitors from FOH. Makes me wonder if the engineers have ever mixed a show.

This new AH would be great if it were expandable. I see it having a hard time competing with the new Behringer crap. I'm not going to spend this kind of cash for 16 inputs. I think I will be holding onto my Mix Wiz.

If they made a 24 channel version of the DL I would buy for shure.

Looks like the only exciting feature here is that you can hang it on a rail. :o
Yah, like WTF is up with that form factor :o ?

here we go again,
yet another expensive, overly complicated (for 16 ch.) mixer that is oh.... digital!

So park that thing on your table in the back of the room where you will have to sit, run your AC extension cord and
tape down the 150 foot ethernet cable that must go to the expensive "brains" uh, umm, interface by the stage and plug in all your mics.

Yes you can run this expensive overly complicated mixer with an iPad,, now that's a cool idea, but why the expensive console surface?

Geez...
Even though I am sometimes dumbfounded at Mackie's ignorance lately, nobody,... and I mean nobody gets it.

We don't need a console, and we don't need an ethernet interface... not for 16 channel cutesy little mixers that get the job done.
I love Allen & Heath products I own two but this is just stupid.... well, to me it is, it is just not practical.

Agreed Dan, but it is beautiful, new & shiny.  ;)
Much as the Mackie DL is fab and Behringer's x-series look good, having an A&H will get me more hire work.
It's just the way it works here.

I did a recording session last night using a ZED-R16, and was reminded why I don't like A&H - their analog preamps suck. There's a crazy threshold in the gain knob around 11-12 o'clock where it goes from "not hot enough" to "burning and crackling" with no room for error.

I didn't have that experience with the GLD I worked on so I think they've improved things in the move to digital gain.

This is one thing Mackie got spot on - the taper in their gain controls is awesome!

I got to see this at the frankfurt show and it's great I am dumping the mackie for this. It's about 800 quid dearer than a mackie but is everything the mackie isn't.

You can even do 16 channel recording. Played with the behringer  desk too it was pretty cool but still felt like disposable audio.

I am probably going to buy this desk as soon as it comes out

Had hands on with a QU16 today - it's very nice and built like a tank. More importantly, it sounded sweet with nice sounding eq and effects. Deliveries for customers imminent......

I don't understand why they don't make a physical control surface with wifi to the brain/stagebox?
