Well, like in most businesses the less fun it is to do the better it pays (I hope :)).

BillESC:
It's a local high school on a budget (aren't they all.)  got $ 700.00 for five and a half hours.  I'll post pictures from the office tomorrow.

BillESC:
Please excuse the shaky pictures, I was drinking a lot of coffee  :)

Rotating gobos on the floor.

Spotlighting the podium speaker.

Hitting the mirror ball (back wall about 60')

You may also see orange uplighting.  I doubt an RGB fixture can create this color, I used Par38's w/100wPar16 Halogen lamps.

RoadRanger:
I still eschew gobos in favor of an "old school" mirrored ball over the dance floor with four pinspots focused on it from the diagonals of the room. Usually white, red, green, and blue. My ball drive is battery powered so I don't have to run power out to it.

Nice orange, gels I assume? I use 75W NSP PAR30's in my PAR38 cans as they nestle into the bottom of the cans I have well and are somewhat supported by the sides. The colored ones I use have pretty decent color saturation but obviously you are far more limited in color selection over gels - but a fair bit less of a PITA :).
