Reverb Question

I got my DL over  year ago, its been performing fairly regularly and I haven't had many issues, besides a bit of resynching. I have read the faq on the reverb, and how to select the presets, so I'm able to get the different reverb effects I would want. What I am wondering, is there some suggestions to get the "metalic ring" sound to go away? I would expect it from springs or plates, but for the hall and room sounds, if you listen in headphones, it's very pronounced. In an out door venue, the "metalic ring" sort of gets washed out from 15 feet away, but close to the source, its a bit disgusting. 

Any observations on this would be helpful.
