Hey Beno, I may have missed any "official" word on this in all the white noise in the forums, but will MF3 run on an original iPad running iOS 5.1.1? Alternately, will it be possible to use a mix of older and newer iPads with MF 2.1 and 3?

Thanks!

Master Fader 3.0 requires iOS7.1 so it will NOT work with iPad 1.

Just guessing from the MF 2 upgrade.  It wouldn't allow a mixing of MF 1.x and MF 2.x.  Each Master Fader pushed out it's own firmware onto the mixer.  When I upgraded to MF 2.0 I warned my bandmates at the time to upgrade and one hadn't.  He couldn't use his ipad until he upgraded to MF 2.0.

Just like all the previous builds you cannot mix and match versions so all your iPads will need to updated to 3.0 so if you need to still use an iPad, they will all need to stay on Master Fader 2.1.1.

Also of note when Master Fader 3.0 is released this week, My Fader 3.0 is not ready for release and My Fader 2.0 will NOT work with Master Fader 3.0. So if you need to continue to use My Fader on an iPhone or iPod touch, you'll want to not upgrade and stick with Master Fader 2.1.1 a little longer. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Master Fader 3.0 release is this week, My Fader 3.0 (what I asked about) is "a little longer", just looking for a bit tighter of an estimate

Don't have a good estimate now but it is will definitely not be in November. Our goal is December but no guarantees.

Convince your bandmates to get an ipad mini.  Problem solved.  I've gotten addicted to using OnSong for charts and lyrics.  And for all those complaints about music stands onstage, the ipad mini attached to a mic stand is barely noticeable.  I actually hadn't noticed the ipad mini that a hard rock group of a friends was using to mix on their DL1608.  It was in the front of the stage.  (typical rock lighting.)  Personally I don't mind music stands, but an ipad will hold more music and be easier to carry around.  The books have gotten pretty large.  (And you can run Master Fader or My Fader on it.  I've tried both in the past.)  Maybe one day I'll need to have two ipad minis.  One for the mixer and one for my charts.

Ah yes, just in time for NAMM 2015. You don't suppose  we could get a Christmas present? What about the "white noise" issue, is it solved or at least identified?

White noise issue should be fixed in 3.0.
