Ad Hoc is where two wireless devices connect to each other without using a wireless router.

For example a laptop can connect to an iPad.

It won't work between the DL and an iPad because the DL doesn't have built in wireless.

Apple implemented Ad-Hoc in iOS but my guess is Mackie didn't. Haven't tried it but a simple wired (no DHCP) would be the hookup. USB to Ethernet  for the iPad to DL. Mf3.x allows setting IP addresses for DL  Who want's to try?.  Fixed IP addresses should work.

Thank you, Fluddman.  That would make it difficult, wouldn't it? :)

That's some next level stuff, WK154.  Way beyond my paygrade.  :P  Sounds like you'd still have a physical, wired connection between ipad/DL?

AD-Hoc doesn't mean wireless, it can be either. Most here would kill for a wired fallback. Just haven't gotten around to trying it with the DL. The rest works for wired Internet access using the iPad.
