New Lightning Dock Kit and iPad Air Tray
« on: March 05, 2015, 08:15:32 PM »
Had a question I thought I'd throw out there.  I recently purchased an iPad Air 2 to use for my remote DL iPad and use my iPad Air (1) docked.  My DL was the old 30-pin connector, so I purchased both the tray and the connector kit.  Installed really easy.  I do have an issue when the iPad lock is connected that there is a little slop from left to right.  If you slide the iPad toward the lock, it disconnects from the DL.  I'm going to create a shim (i.e. self adhesive rubber strip) that will attach to the edge of the lock and close the gap a bit.  Just wondering if anyone else has this issue?

Use a piece of sponge cut to size.  That's what I've done with guitar pickups and similar.

Thinking of building out using a cut piece of plastic and then add the foam (sponge) on top of it.
