What e-drum kit?... or make my own?!?
« on: April 21, 2010, 01:47:43 PM »
OK, first of all... NOT a drummer.

Basically, I'm wanting to get an edrum kit for my friends that ARE drummers to use when they drop by to help me work up arrangements using BFD or whatever for recording (currently I use pads on my Axiom 49 controller). Is one kit better for this than another? I've figured out that I'll have to avoid kits like the Roland HD1 where there are no individual trigger outputs for the pads/cymbals and that I'd probably also need an Alesis I/O or similar, but is there a simple solution that I should be looking at?!? Something that I might be able to pick up used that has decent playability and can output MIDI as well?

Thanks in advance...

Something like this?

That has chokeable cymbals - most of the inexpensive sets don't and drummers HATE that :).

That's exactly what I need... thanks. (And thanks for not just directing me to "Let Me Google That For You.")
