Well I am done.  Having a pre Christmas vodka and soda, cheers.  I think tomorrow I will hook up my ipad, install MF 3 and fire up the DL.  Now my next big fear is that everybody says it's a dog and really slow.

I have my new band convinced to all IEM and we start rehearsal in a week all IEM and using the DL.  I had promised them they could use their iphones so there is strike one against me.  Ho Ho

I guess you don't have MF2 anywhere, have you looked in your trash folder? I found MF2.1.1.ipa in there on my MacBook Pro (which is the library the main iPad is synced to) and MF1.4.ipa in the trash on the desktop (though I haven't a clue where that came from). I may just try installing MF1.4 just to see if it can be down if I get bored this Christmas.....

1.4 is not bad. That's right before my sync problems started. Little light on features, but very stable.

No I am SOL.  I do have a glimmer of light.  My ex wife and I broke up 3 months ago and I had given her a mini which I would take to the gigs as well.  It still has 2.1.1 on it under my apple account as well.  When she gets back this week she said she might listen to the problem and then decide if she would help or not.  i offered to buy her a brand new mini :(

I think what you want to do, if you get it back, is to delete Master Fader off your macbook from within itunes. Empty the trash, and then sync the mini. Hopefully, it will ask you if you want to transfer purchases from the mini. If it doesn't, you might have to look into jailbreaking, which is actually pretty easy.

Oh, first, I'd make damned sure that auto-update wasn't on on the mini. I'd turn wifi off first thing.

Turn the WiFi off?  I'm assuming only during the attempt to go back to MF 2.x.  You could also just forget any networks where you might be able to auto-update.  There's a reason that I named my working WiFi network "NoInternetHere"  And then there's that pass-phrase.

Sorry.  Not paying too much attention to the levels of contributors.  (Ought to be an app for that.  Is easier if there's a face in the avatar.)  We do run the gamut of new to digital mixers, to happy but ready to move up.  And there is that one other aspect.  To do this easily requires some level of Networking familiarity.  I was a PC/Network tech and CNA in a previous working life.  So I'm fairly comfortable with the WiFi side.  (Going back nearly 20 years.)  I remember when NIC drivers for laptops and Linux were rare.  Not any more. (Do you know what a NIC is?   Haven't seen that term used in a while.)
