Missing iPad signal DL1608 MF Classic

I used my iPad for background music over the weekend and, while the mixer was passing the audio, controllable by the main and aux faders the iPad channel meter showed no signal and the iPad fader had no effect. Has anybody else experienced this?

iPad 2 docked iOs 7.1.2 MF 2.1.1 (build 6.021)
iPad 3 wireless with MF 2.1.1 (build 6.023)

Happened to me once using a docked iPad 4, music playing on the mix&mash app on the iPad channel. Good old "turn it off and on again" fixed it for me!

I can't remember if I did a reboot of the desk, i didn't reboot either iPad, but when i used the DL yesterday I used the iPad channel to prove the system and it was working fine.
