I'm hoping to see a DL16R or DL24R soon that fit in a shallow rack :) .

The offline editor for the X32 pretty much replicates everything on the unit and is graphically laid out like the full X32. Clearly this doesn't help your issue with regards to a shallow rack, but there is a lot crammed in one of those units including the two stage power supply.

I would buy one, I still have a soft spot for the DL/MF combo ;)
The older I get, the better I was!

I didn't see anything in there about offline editing.

And ... this is the PC control app, not the iOS app.

You can download the app and run it offline (in 'demo' mode) I'll give it a try tomorrow to see if it allows you to save scenes in demo mode.

Of course it will, but why not wait till NAMM you never know if Mackie wised up. V2.3 of the X32 iPad app seems to have a few problems so stay tune.

The PC app allows full offline editing and you can then sync it to the mixer either via a network connection or saving the show file to USB and loading it to the mixer directly. There is also a Mac OSX and Linux version of this if Windows isn't your bag. I don't believe you can offline edit from the iPad version.

I already answered that twice and if you want, as Sam stated, download and see for yourself. FUD helps no-one. You also forgot to mention the most feature full and reliable Android app by Dave, currently the best choice IMHO.
So back to the OP's subject. Has anyone seen pics of the DL's analog section?

Apologies you can (partially) edit offline with the iPad version of X32-Mix,. In the previous version not all the features were editable offline and even in this one, you can't edit the pre-amp gains from the channels, you have to go into the setup screen and do them separately. My app was synced to the mixer before taking it offline and the gains aren't showing their position as they were set on the mixer. So its ok, but not as good as the PC app. Haven't got an android tablet, so can't try out that app.

Fyi, I purchased a Qu-Pac back in Feb 2016 when they went on sale for under $1200.  I've played with it a bit but haven't used it for our concerts yet (lack of time forced me to continue with the DL which was a known entity).  The form factor is great, not sure I like the iPad UI as much as Master Fader.

So, back to looking at the DL again.   My iPad 2's are getting really slow with iOS9 so I am starting the upgrade to the new iPad 2017 ... already bought one and it is a lot faster than the iPad 2.   Now if I want to use the new iPad to dock in my DL I will have to change out the connector and the tray .. $90.  Which brings me back to the rack mount project.

If anyone has looked into this further over the last year and a half I would be interested to hear your findings.

Thanks.  John

Hi John,

I bought a used Apple brand 30-pin to lightning adapter cable from Ebay for $20.
Works fine, though the newer Ipads don't slide/dock.

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Is that a possibility? I've just recently switched to the new MF software, and have a new iPad which has great processing power & speed. I would love to convert my tray & dock. Is this a kit you can purchase?

Thanks - I want the tray conversion. The only thing they don't mention is what iPad will fit in that tray. I have a new generation iPad (2017), which is dimensionally different that the Air2. Will this tray work?

I am in the same situation ... moving from an iPad2 to an iPad(2017).  From what I can tell the new iPad uses the iPad Air tray ... but I would suggest calling Mackie and confirming that before ordering one.
