The biggest news was the Samsung buyout at the beginning of the year of Harmon Intl. (brands such as Soundcraft, JBL, AKG etc.) $8 Billion in cash. Samsung's focus is the auto sound market. Then there is Transom Capitol Partners a private equity group that owns Loud. They have been busy selling off Ampeg and Martin this year after acquiring them only in October of 2017. What's next in Mackie's future? Wonder if Uli is next (Music Tribe)?

Looking at the latest financials of Loud, it doesn't look promising according to Reuters. The last TTM (Trailing Twelve Months) was really bad, no wonder Transom is selling off pieces of their investment. Seems like they really don't understand the music business.
