Happy holidays
« on: December 24, 2014, 05:14:08 PM »
Just taking an opportunity to wish everyone on this forum a wonderful holiday season. All your help and
great input has really been invaluable this past year.

Make sure to buy yourself a little something too.  Everyone needs to occasionally reward themselves.
Your never to old to learn something stupid

Doubt that my Wife would ever attempt to purchase something for my music or sound business.  She took a mixing course at a local acoustic music school.  (Don't know how to describe Swallow Hill in Denver.  Neat place.)  Still not sure why she took it.  Maybe to see if I'm full of crap?  She wanted to learn to play Congas and we purchased a set.  Hasn't touched them in about 10 years.  (Low priced Latin Percussion.  Nice drums.)  Seems we used to communicate much better.  Loved those hours of just talking that led to dating.  Wonder if things will get better when she retires.  (She's planning on working another 8 years.)    We'll see

Meantime.  Merry Christmas to everyone.

Thanks chas but once you factor in the cost of the adaptor, the cost of the plastic plate thing, and then convert it to euros and multiply by two ( one spare) it's not cheap mate.

It's 800/1600 euros before shipping,

Cheers mate

No adaptor needed, just a new kettle lead <£5
Plate thing, too expensive. Use a bit of DIY if you really must dock your iPad.
Use what you have now as a spare, or at best buy a second PSU.
No need to buy a second mixer unless you plan to do two gigs at the same time ;)
Mixer plus lead, <550 Euro.
Multi Volt Adapter <20 Euro.
Delivery to Alicante probably less than 50 Euro (don't use Citilink!!)

Yes maybe I could slide cardboard under the pad, I don't really want it rack mounted tbh an attaché case is my preferred method of storage and usage, I didn't factor for that stupid metal thing, ok maybe I am being ott about buying a spare, but I think once you get accustomed to working in a specific way, ie ipad  securely docked and charging,  jumping back to old desk and faffing with a safe  home for the pad etc extra stand does steer me in to having an identical setup, probably would purchase from thomann at 729 ,  I am not sure if other companies offer the 3 year guarantee and excellent out of guarantee repair service that they do.

Thanks Robbo,

Ps With having very little work off season I am fortunate to not have to jump in before next April, so I can afford to ponder lurk and so on before splashing the cash and I do have very specific shared stage issues which are always back of mind.

Cheers
