Using FX on iPad (reprising old thread)

I've tried this a couple of times in the past and since I was playing with Altispace on the iPad anyway today I thought I'd see if there were any recent changes. I docked into the DL, switched off WiFi and set up mf4 with AS as a send FX as described.

I feel there's less need for this since the 'verbs were improved but it does sound head and shoulders above the internal offerings, useable though they undoubtedly now are.

I left the setup running to see if anything would flinch over time and after a few hours returned to play. After about 10 mins I happened to adjust the IR envelope and AS seemed to flip into clipping, meters maxing out and much digi-stortion.

Now, it's difficult to know whether this might be an MF, AS or hardware issue and, given that I'd probably not use this technique in anger anyway I don't really fancy investing much time in exploration so I thought I'd ask - anyone else had a go at this recently?
