You welcome Dan. BenO also stated that they would release MF 5 in stages due to the complexity with all the different models of mixers. That was also changed with the crazy idea that it's all one product when it's not.

Ben is most likely in contact on a regular basis with a few friends he made while working at Mackie, and I bet he is really sad about their decision to ditch the DC16.

AFAIK Ben was a survivor and has been with Mackie since Greg's time around 2002 Greg left in 2003. It must have been pretty frustrating to work under a bunch of bean-counters and probably had enough or the offer from Amazon was that good. I don't know if he had any hand in some of the code, he had his masters in the UK in DSP technology. He may also have enticed some of his fellow Mackie friends to go with him.

P.S. You can also look at it another way and say that he didn't finish his pet project and instead killed it. Traditionally Mackie's software department has been a revolving door.

Well the story unfolds about AXIS. It seems that the powers to be just like the prior D8B decided to kill the product and you will no doubt see the docs in discontinued items under support soon. Sweetwater certainly doesn't want be be holding dead inventory.

So this may have been the reason for BenO's departure from Mackie. Not unlike the story with Tracktion, Julian Storer and Mackie around 2007. Time will tell.

As of 5/21/20 calling for support ends in a partial message and disconnect. Apparently Mackie is shut down and if anyone is working to fix 5.1.0 it's not obvious. Social distancing from a computer must b something new. Customer service is non-existent.

I figured development would be freakin awesome during a shutdown!  Nothing to distract you. =)

I've had my in-ears at Westone since March...   No sign of them, as they are closed down too apparently =(

Yes I was thinking about posting a Mackie/customer relations post but held back for this to subside. It has become clear that after Greg Mackie (2003) sold out, customer relations became a thing of the past and only profits mattered.
