Has your dl ever just stopped working ?
« on: June 17, 2013, 06:32:50 PM »
Sat nights gig, while sound checking the desk just stopped responding while undocked, I tried docking it but it still didn't work. I had to turn everything off including the iPad and it finally came back to life.

To be fair that was the last straw for me, I have tried and tested this desk but at the end of the day I am done with it. Oh yeah what the hell is going on with my fader, I used it once and it kept dropping all night.

Pity this could and should have been a great idea.

A UPS is pretty mandatory for any digital mixer and/or DSP. If you are using 2400 GHz you have to do all of this:

Otherwise stay analog and wired.

You weren't setting up the AUX channels by any chance?

Lolz.
It's happened me loads of times.
I'd be working on an AUX channels, go do something - plug something in, chat, scratch etc. etc - come back to the desk and start to mix - nothing happening...
I've usually forgotten to turn back to the LR page. It's something I'd like changed in a future update, different coloured backgrounds on  LR, Aux1 etc.
This may be what happened to you - it's happened to me plenty of times until I caught on.
Hope this helps:)

I've been meaning to make some colored labels in picture form for the main faders on each "page". Maybe just green for L&R and red for the others. Or maybe I'm waiting for V1.5 which will "fix" this - nope, just lazy LOL.

Was worth a shot!
Otherwise no problems with the desk other than a slightly narrowed power adapter pin which would have cycled the power if moved.
I'm using a fairly old Netgear router (DG834Gv2) and haven't had any problems with it either.
Hope you get sorted:)

Sounds like you just became disconnected. Just docking it doesn't necessarily connect you either - sometimes you have to go to the "connect" page.

Possibly, tell you what though I have never in my life bought a product that in order to get it to do what it's says it should do you get a list if ... You just have to do this and then that sometimes a bit of the other and then it might work for you !

Any word on the Allen and Heath desk arriving ?

Any mixer using an iPad wirelessly is going to have those wifi issues :( . I generally keep my iPad 2 docked and use my iPad mini for wireless control on 5 GHz . I've not had any issues but it's nice knowing that if I did I could run back to the DL1608 and keep going :) .

They have one to play with in Reasound - I was up fiddling with it a few days last week.
Stock for sale still to arrive.
By August they'll be available as needed according to the main man at Reasound.
It's a nice piece of kit, built like a tank and surprisingly heavy - well it seemed that way as I tried to fit it in my jacket;)
It sounded really good and had a dearth of features.
My first impression is there will be a steeper learning curve than on the DL I think.
With the extra features comes extra complexity but it seems very flexible.
Other features to be added, some buttons greyed out until future firmware updates.
I have some Presonus gear I need to shift on Gumtree now:/

I normally leave my iPad docked and use our keyboard players iPad for adjustments, I think he was hooking his up to his keys which is why I was using mine. I might take a trip up to reasound soon and have look, I will give you a shout when I do ..... See if you want to buy a nearly new mackie desk ;)
